We must fight, right now, with everything in us, and as we fight, we must fight from complete trust and faith in God. He knows exactly what He is doing. By requiring our participation, He is training us for the battle ahead, He is training us to be completely and utterly singleminded in our devoted faith in Him.
Most of us don’t know how to fight in complete faith and trust. I am learning. Can I stay in complete rest and trust while I am fighting? Sometimes… It seems like an oxymoron but it is not. It is simply truth. Because God is in charge, we can trust Him to teach us how to win, how to fight from within His Victory. He has already won the war. Ours is to enter into His Victory.
Think of Joshua and the battle of Jericho. Think of Gideon. Where was the struggle? Where was the anxiety? There was none, because the victory was the Lord’s. We have no need to be anxious, but we do have a need to symbolically cross the Red Sea and watch God defeat His enemies. Are we ready to fight from peace and rest? It is God’s requirement of us at this time. It shows our faith in Him.
