Get in the boat???
This boat looks fragile. There are broken off pieces floating in the water. Facing a huge tsunami, who would be foolish enough to get in something so flimsy for protection?
Anyone with understanding and wisdom. This boat was found underneath the Sea of Galilee in the 1980s. It is over 2000 years old. It’s called the Jesus Boat and was discovered in the mud during a drought. Intact.
To many, Christ seems broken and flimsy, and being part of the Body of Christ seems like ancient foolishness. Protection? More like having one’s head in the sand. Have you seen all our broken off pieces recently? But it is the only protection we have that can survive the coming storm. It is the only thing that can survive the spiritual, emotional, mental, earthshaking, body cracking changes that are coming. It can withstand anything and everything because this little boat is eternal.
Its broken off pieces need healing, just like parts of ourselves need healing, and we need to surrender our faith completely to the Lord so he can remake it, so His Body can float freely on His waters, buoyed by His Faith. Then, in His Faith Boat, we will ride the tsunami, fly over the rocks and precipices, and land on sweet, soft ground. And make no mistake, the Jesus Boat is a fishing boat. Anybody out there fishing?
This is my third intercessory painting in the series on the Sea of Reeds, commonly called the Red Sea. The Sea of Reeds connects into the Persian Gulf, and along its shores are a number of ferocious people groups. God has asked me to be a creative witness for Him so that His presence may be known, felt and embraced in that part of the world, so that the nations around those waterways will only produce His love and peace.
I believe in the power of prayer, coming from the Lord‘s heart, to transform people and nations. Therefore, I believe in the power of a piece of art, inspired by the Lord’s breath, to transform peoples’ hearts, whether or not they ever see that painting. Its intention, in the Lord, can and will touch them. Every single person reached for the Messiah Yeshua is like a world that is reached for loving salvation. Thank you for joining me in prayer.
When Jesus came the first time, he was like that little boat. His body was broken and damaged, and yet remained intact. His influence moved far beyond the physical state of how he appeared, His strength growing exponentially over 2000 years. When He comes again in glory, His tsunami will be ravishing, His beauty will know no ends.
So… GET IN THE BOAT!!!
