Prayers for Israel (Hebrew month of Elul)

Dear friends,

The Lord is opening up my heart today in preparation for our prayers on Thursday, August 28, 2025, and they are good prayers for this entire season. I pray you feel inspired as you read this to enter into prayer for Israel and the Middle East in YHVH‘s name.

Background:

We have just entered the Hebrew month of ELUL, and this year it is a month full of challenges for Israel and the world. According to Hebraic tradition, the month of ELUL finds the King in the field, as the Lord God waits for His people to come close into His heart, to be with Him in intimacy and correction, so He can love and encourage them, helping them with issues of deliverance and repentance, preparing them/us for His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on the first of TISHRI, Rosh HaShanah or Yom Tiruot, which will be on the evening of September 22 and the day of September 23.

This year, the UN High-Level General Assembly week will begin on September 22nd. One of the issues they will discuss is whether or not the UN should officially acknowledge a Palestinian state in Gaza. Before I was aware of this convergence of timing, the Lord told me that he would be victoriously re-entering Jerusalem on the 1st of Tishri.

Did He mean that prophetically or in actuality? I believe, at some level, he meant it in actuality, that he is preparing to act strongly on Israel‘s behalf starting on the 1st of Tishri. Thus, we may be in preparation for a time of extreme altercation between a victorious God and the forces that would stand against His land and His people.

As a Jewish believer in Messiah YESHUA, I stand almost equally for the salvation of the Jews and all their Arab and Palestinian neighbors. I don’t tend to make a clear distinction in my mind between the salvation of one people and another people. I pray for all of their welfare. But what could potentially begin on September 23 could be extremely violent. The world will have to choose how to stand.

In light of that, this is how I’m suggesting that we pray:

That all the people in the Middle East will be ready to receive their King, Messiah Yeshua, in this coming month and season.
That all the people of Israel will recognize the One they pierced, to repent, submit, and rejoice in him.
That the Orthodox, In Israel, the descendants of the Pharisees, will say BARUCH HABA BASHEM ADONAI, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.
That the land will be filled with salvation, love, and peace.
That all hearts, minds, souls, and spirits, on all sides of the current painful situations, will be healed and restored to peace and love, harmony, and happiness.
That whatever vote comes out of the UN will be superseded by the actions of the King of the universe, so that He has his way with Israel, all the peoples of the Middle East, and the world.
That Gaza will become a land of peace for Israel, and all the people who choose to live there will live in peace with Israel.
That nobody who opposes Israel’s existence will live there.
That the land itself will prosper, and that the people who live there will prosper in the love of YESHUA.
That the hostages will be freed before Yom Kippur, if not sooner, and that salvation will come to every heart of every individual who lives in Gaza.
That the Lord, who is on the throne, will take care of the challenges coming from Iran and silence them.
That the same applies to all the nations in the Middle East, or those that impact the Middle East.
Any specific prayers that people have for the different nations and people groups in the Middle East.
